Giving Thanks

What a day! We are spending our thanksgiving in Denver, CO with our dear friends Blake and Whitney Jackson. They are such amazing blessings in our lives. God truly gave them to us as a special blessing that cannot be expressed in words. It was our first thanksgiving on our own...without our mom's preparation of the feast that is, and it was a total success. We made all of our favorite turkey day foods and didn't mess anything up. And, the kitchen is still in tact! It was a wonderful, disaster free day full of love and good fellowship.  A friend of Blake's from work came as well as some OC friends Jared and Rachel. After our feast we watched football and just enjoyed being together.

God has richly blessed me with my amazing husband who has such a beautiful understanding of marriage as a partnership. My babies are so much fun and fill my life with joy and love. The love and support I get from my parents and in-laws is unmatched. They are simply amazing! All of my siblings (including in-laws) have become my best friends as I have gotten older. I love them dearly and thank God for our relationships. I am thankful for the heritage I have received from my parents and grandparents. My family is awesome!

Yeah, it was a good day.

Halloween

I know Halloween was almost a month ago, but I thought I would put up some pictures my friend gave to me. The kids were a cowboy and cowgirl. Unfortunately there isn't one of Aubrie dressed up, but I posted what I have. The first couple are from the produce market here in Brownwood. We went to the park with some friends for lunch the same day. The last couple are from the Trunk or Treat at church.

Stay at home Mom

Hello everyone! I guess this is the introduction of myself and my family to the blog world. I was inspired by my sister-in-law to give this whole blogging thing a try. I will try to be good about keeping up with it and adding pictures, new posts, and anything else I figure out how to do on here. That is Caleb and me this summer on our vacation to Camp Blue Haven where this whole life together began. That was back in 2005 and since then we have had a busy, full journey.

Just a glimpse into my life, I have a son Reese who will be 2 on December 16th and is currently crying because he is due for a nap and has decided he needs some chocolate. He is laying on me right now. Aubrie is 5 1/2 months old and still takes wonderful afternoon naps. She is a very good baby. Reese is very good too most of the time, just not when he should be napping. They already have a great brother-sister relationship. Below are the photos to prove it.

This is pretty typical of Reese. He has loved his little sister since day 1. Although sometimes his love can be a little "intense" he can make her laugh easier than anyone else. They bring us such joy and we cannot help but count our blessings everyday.

Now Reese is sleeping on me. I knew all he needed was a nap :)
